Jeff Green, who attended GU from 2004-2007 before leaving for the NBA, talks about the value of a Georgetown education as he returns to campus to graduate with the class of 2012. Green, who led the Hoyas to the Final Four in 2007 and became an NBA star, spent four consecutive summers taking classes to fulfill his goal – and a promise to his mother. Congrats Jeff, Hoya Saxa!

"You can think of the McDonough School of Business as a launching pad. We send out into the world something that the world needs. … If you pick up the newspaper on any day, it will be clear to you that the world needs you, that Georgetown matters, that the values we embrace here matter."

- Dean David Thomas, McDonough School of Business.

"Congratulations to all of you today. This moment matters deeply to you, to your parents, to your classmates, to your teachers. And that’s more than enough dignity for one day. But tomorrow’s task is to make this moment matter to your community, to your country, to the world. And to make sure that at the end of your run, you leave the world better than you found it. —David Simon, College Commencement, 2012
